Timelines for the reduction of zinc used in Mechanical Plating line have been met. Practices were reviewed to ensure that the amount

of zinc being deposited during mechanical plating operations have been minimized resulting in less zinc being on the product.

How the facility has reduced the amount of the substance that is used – quantity of the substance has not been reduced.  

How the facility has reduced the amount in product – substance is not present in the product.

Timelines for reductions:

Process changes required to achieve a 25% reduction in hydrochloric acid were determined.

Evaluation of the effect of making these process changes was conducted and the adverse effect on productivity made the implementation of these changes financially unfeasible.
